Quick setup

Mindset Lock uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks. You stay in control of permission and app selection.

Allow Screen Time access

Follow the in-app prompt so Mindset Lock can use Apple’s Family Controls features on your iPhone.

Choose your apps

Select between 1 and 50 individual apps where you want Mindset Lock to add a deliberate pause, then save them.

Write your message

Set the short reset message you want to read at the moment you reach for a selected app.

Test the pause

Open your selected app and confirm that the Mindset Lock pause appears before you continue.

Troubleshooting

The pause does not appear

  1. Open Mindset Lock and confirm Screen Time access is allowed.
  2. Confirm the app is one of your saved selections.
  3. If you previously tapped I Read It, reopen Mindset Lock to end that manual session.
  4. Save protection again, then retry the selected app.
  5. If the issue continues, restart your iPhone and test once more.

The app stays open after I Read It

This is the intended manual-session behavior. There is no timer, and leaving the opened app does not end the session. Your other selected apps stay protected. Reopen Mindset Lock when you want every selected app protected again. The optional Lock Again action can do the same from Shortcuts or the Action Button; no Shortcut automation is required.

Screen Time permission was denied

Open iOS Settings and review the Screen Time or Family Controls permission available for Mindset Lock. Then return to the app and try setup again. Without this permission, Mindset Lock cannot add a pause before selected apps.

The wrong app is paused

Open Mindset Lock, choose the correct individual apps, and save. This release protects between 1 and 50 selected apps at a time.

I want to stop using the pause

Clear protection inside Mindset Lock. You can also remove Screen Time access in iOS Settings. Deleting Mindset Lock removes its locally stored app data from your device.

Privacy and your data

Your setup, selected apps, reset message, and optional history stay on your device. Mindset Lock requires no account, has no payment flow, and uses no AI service.
